Dear Nick
This is a most welcome and informative piece of advice !
I have never heard a recommended dose for the application of Boron and this may be why we lost a Pecan tree last year. It’s leaves turned from green to bronze to yellow between March and June and this season it is quite dead. My applications of Boron hitherto have largely consisted of the odd handful mixed in a bucket with nitrophoska or lime or gypsum – more like a dessert spoonful rather than half a teaspoon per tree!
We experienced hard frosts at walnut flowering time this year but one tree [variety unknown ] is laden with nuts another, about 20m away has two nuts !
Regards
Tony Walker
