A family operated business with around 16,000 grape vine plantings.
Not a traditional grape growing region but despite initial ‘local’ scepticism, the property is performing well and yielding a quality product [which will be available for sampling/sale].
Some 350 olive trees also supplement the operation, along with a block of truffle-inoculated hazels and oaks that are nearing fruition.
Check out www.southern-truffles.co.nz for more info on the NZ truffle industry.
…lunch will now be a ‘Bring Your Own’ – self cater affair…..held at the vineyard property around mid-day.
Shelter is available in the advent of inclement weather.
Eating lunch among the grape vines or olive trees should be rather fun. 🙂
A group booking has been arranged but you are responsible for ordering and paying for your own meal on arrival. For catering numbers/host convenience, please email Ian, ikharding@inspire.net.nz, prior to the event, if you intend lunching at the Waterford.
