Mature Trees south of Waipukurau
Hosts Steve & Jane, Marlow Hill, Hatuma-Takapau area, south of Waipukurau
This established family farm has many 20-30 year old trees, including the original 2-3 hectare nut plantation of chestnuts, pecans, almonds and hazels, with elsewhere willows, pines and shelter trees. Steve was an active member of early Hawke’s Bay TreeCrops branch in the 70’s and 80’s, and is well known for his writing and radio work for the farming press.
We will lunch at this property.
If there is enough interest we will make an afternoon visit to the Andrew Watts Memorial Reserve near Waipukurau.
