Saturday 6 October, 10am, at Japanese gardens, Atawhai Drive
Meet on Saturday 6 October at Japanese gardens at 10am. The Japanese gardens are near Founders Park on Atawhai Drive (between the marae and the highway junction). Plenty of parking along the road. A guided tour will be held by Peter Coubrough. Peter designed the gardens and is supervising the construction and ongoing development of the garden. Peter has been heavily involved with TCA at the time of the olive action group. The Miyazu Gardens will have just had the Cherry Blossom Festival, so all should be looking good.
After the Japanese gardens we will drive to the newest international garden: the Chinese garden in the Queens Gardens. Entry near Suter art gallery. Again Peter will be our guide as he designed these gardens too. The Suter art gallery has a lovely cafe, which looks out onto the Queens Gardens. The tour will take about three hours in total from 10 am till approx. 1pm.
