Our branch is presenting a seminar on the Guava moth, also known as the
“Fruit Driller Caterpillar” because it attacks such a wide range of fruit and nuts…
Approximately 50 people attended each seminar.
A panel of 3 scientists, Drs John Clearwater, Gordon Lees and Jenny Dymock spoke on the history and current extent of the problem, together with the current research and initiatives for control and eradication.
Feedback from those attending was positive and most filled out a registration of interest to participate in the subsequent FDC monitoring survey which will be organised.
