Attention! – this is filling up fast, so if you are coming please contact Grant so he can organise the logistics.
- What: A learn-to-graft workshop, free to members, $10 to non-members.
If you want to take rootstocks home with you, these are $3 each for members and $5 for non-members.
- When: Saturday, 15 th September. Participants are welcome from 9am. Workshop starts at 9:30 and finishes by lunchtime.
- Where: Changed Venue – now at Whatitiri Community Hall, 33 Whatitiri Rd, Whatitiri. Parking is on the old tennis court. We will be there from 9:30 am and you need to register and be ready to start by 10am.
Members with some previous grafting experience would be welcome on the day, to help with the workshop and/or the afternoon session grafting trees for next year’s Tree Sale.
- Bring: A grafting knife, a Stanley type blade will do. Snap-off blades are not suitable. Tape, meths, pruning paste if you have them. A folding chair. You are welcome to bring your lunch to have after the workshop.
If you have not grafted before, don’t rush out and buy tools until after you have been to the workshop.
The workshop will finish at 12:00 and afterwards members are welcome to go back to Grant and Jackie Liddles, just up the road, for a BYO lunch and to help bag up some of last year’s trees for the Waimate North Show.
Help from people who have a little grafting experience would be appreciated with both morning and afternoon sessions.
