We have organised a double visit for Sunday 30th September.
10.00am – 12.00pm – Mark and Sally, Queen St East, Levin.
Property is about 40 acres, horse paddocks and buildings, Barberry hedges and some trees require identification. Some stock on now, looking for ideas, how to use the land around the house, also what fruit they could grow. Your ideas will be welcomed.
12.15 – 1.00pm – BYO lunch at Jacksons Road property (tea and coffee provided)
1.00 – 3.00pm Tina’ property at Jacksons Road, Levin.
This 5ha property was created from a dairy farm subdivision 20 years ago. The first owners were enthusiastic planters of fruit, nut, and ornamental trees. They also had access to experimental varieties of feijoas (from the closure of Crop research at Levin). In addition there is a commercial crop of daffodils (1 ha), milking sheep, alpacas, cattle, chooks, ducks, quail and turkeys.
