GYO and BYO for an interactive three-day conference.
Workshops and demonstrations will begin on Friday (concurrent to the management meetings) and the evening is a social apple competition-
Apple Friday Party – $40 per person –OR– your Apple Friday entry
Bring your big, small or superior apple, your apple cider, apple jam, apple pie, apple turnover, or apple anything for a chance to win some prestige
(and maybe a prize!).
Treedimensions Apple Taste – 30 varieties of heritage apples for you to taste
Hear our guest speaker, Dr Will McClatchey from the Botanical Research Institute of Texas talk on the ethnobiology of cider.
Saturday and Sunday will start with a selection of speakers to inform you on subjects such as karaka and native tree crops, chestnuts and soil botany.
Buses with then take you on field trips which will visit a selection of properties grouped by theme:
These visits will include practical demonstrations and workshops.
Saturday evening is a social dinner with an entertaining guest speaker and several NZTCA awards to be presented.
Come prepared to learn a lot and get your hands dirty.
