21 May 2014
My name is Gillian Anderson. Some of you will have heard from me in the last year giving you updates on the Food Bill. The Bill has currently passed its second reading and is likely to be passed into law by parliament next week.
MPI is very keen to connect with members of the processed herbs and spices, processed nuts and seeds sectors as well as all horticultural producers and packhouses. I am going to in Auckland for the Fresh Connections conference June 25-26 and would like gauge support for running some workshops or meetings on the horticulture guidance material that MPI is currently trialling. This guidance will be used to assist growers in meeting the requirements of the new Food Act.
I am going to Whangarei on Tuesday the 24th June and could link in with other groups in the area on the Monday or Tuesday morning.
I will be in Auckland on Monday 23rd, if not in Whangarei, and definitely in Auckland on Friday 27th June. I will also stay for the weekend if this works better for your organisation.
I look forward to hearing from you.
